David Kendall and Dave Nofsinger | Art Gallery Exhibit

David Kendall is an award-winning visual artist, filmmaker and educator from Goshen, Indiana. Kendall sees art as a powerful way of communicating both ideas and emotions. Whether it's visual art or story telling in its various forms, he often keeps a sense of humor at the core of his art. Kendall is also the Coordinator for Career Networks at Goshen College. He and his family enjoy living in Goshen and supporting the arts whenever possible.

Dave Nofsinger ('90) is an assistant professor in Western Michigan University's Department of Theatre. Nofsinger's teaching specialties are in the areas of scenic design, drafting, rendering, properties and scenic painting. A portion of his artist statement reads: "Scenery design is a blend of the objectives for sculpture, painting, drawing, drafting, performance and literature. I strive to design interesting, balanced and appropriately focused artwork that will be used by a production team to tell a story." The artwork in this exhibit is from Nofsinger's personal collection of "working documents". They represent his process in designing scenery, and serve as one example of an approach.

The work of Kendall and Nofsinger will be on display in the Hershberger Art Gallery (located inside the Goshen College Music Center) from January 19 until March 15. The opening reception and artist talk with be on Sunday, January 26, beginning at 2:00 p.m..
