54th Annual Concerto-Aria Concert

The 54th Annual Goshen College Concerto-Aria Competition Concert will feature student winners of GC?s Concerto-Aria Competition. Winners will perform concerto movements or arias with the Goshen College Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Dr. Christopher Fashun. Performing are:
  • Micah Detweiler, marimba ? Concerto No. 1 for Marimba and Orchestra (mvts. 2 & 4) by Ney Rosauro
  • Benjamin Ganger, baritone ? ?Ach, air admen Leute!? from Hänsel und Gretel by Engelbert Humperdinck
  • Rachel Mast, mezzo-soprano & Katie Miller, soprano ? Deh! Conte, Mira, O Norma by Vincenzo Bellini
  • Brody Thomas, piano ? Piano Concerto No. 21 in C Major, K. 467 (mvt. 1) by W.A. Mozart
  • Jorge Abreu Toyens, violin & Sam Smucker, violin ? Concerto for Two Violins in A minor, Op. 3 No. 8 (mvts. 2 & 3) by Antonio Vivaldi
The GCSO will also perform Carmen Suite No. 1 by Georges Bizet, and "Intermezzo" from Karelia Suite by Jean Sibleius. Tickets: $10 adults, $7 seniors/students. GC students free with ID. Tickets available online at http://www.goshen.edu/tickets or (574) 535-7566.
