A Day with Wetland Invertebrates

Natural communities cannot be understood without some knowledge of the work of animals without backbones, including insects. Insects are important herbivores, predators, decomposers and scavengers in wetland ecosystems. Wetland ecologist Dr. Mary Linton will help participants recognize and untangle the relationships between wetland invertebrates in this daylong, hands-on workshop. Most of the time will be spent outdoors sampling the rich diversity of wetland habitats available within Merry Lea?s land base. The workshop is limited to 15 people, and will take place rain or shine. The registration fee of $75 includes lunch and handouts. Meet at Merry Lea?s Learning Center Building. To register, email jenniferhs@goshen.edu or call 260- 799-5869 with questions.
