Hoosier History 5000

Doug Liechty Caskey's May Term class, Touring Theater for Young Audiences, is pleased to announce our tenth and final performance will be held on TUESDAY, MAY 15 at 7:00 in UMBLE CENTER. We've been touring to area schools, but a number of you have asked for the chance to see our 30-minute production called HOOSIER HISTORY 5000 geared for 3rd-5th grade audiences. The FREE performance, written by GC alum Tara Hershberger, is a high-energy play about 3 young students assigned to write about Indiana folklore and history. They invent a time travel machine in their garage that allows them to visit the Limberlost Swamp, the Miami Tribe and the famous Indiana poet James Whitcomb Riley's childhood friend, Little Orphan Annie. Along the way, the "students" explore different theories for the origin of the word "Hoosier" and introduce their newest friend, Juan, to the wonders of Indiana.
