Attitudes and Beliefs Towards Statistics: What are they and why do they matter to all teachers?

Description: Which teaching and learning experiences shape teachersâ?? attitudes and beliefs towards Statistics? Why is â??statistical thinkingâ?? important for all teachers? We will examine the answers to these questions based on results from a recent research study which sought to describe practicing secondary mathematics teachersâ?? attitudes and beliefs towards statistics. Since attitudes and beliefs are situated in context, the implications for future and in-service teachers will be discussed.
