Watson's story has appeared in newspapers throughout the nation and in Guideposts magazine. Watson, who pulled herself up from the poverty of Calnali, Mexico, now works to help others improve their lives. She is a senior advisor to Indiana governor Mitch Daniels and is an important partner for the Goshen College Center for Intercultural Teaching and Learning.
