J Lawrence Burkholder was born during the First World War, came of age in the Great Depression, administered relief programs in pre-Communist China, taught at Harvard Divinity School in the 1960s, served as president of Goshen College in 1971-84, and was present at the Berlin Wall when it came tubmling down in 1989. He will reflect on some ways his life has intersected with significant historical events of the 20th century.
