Hope Not Hate: US-Islamic World Relations

A town hall meeting called "Hope Not Hate: US-Islamic World Relations" will host a panel of four distinguished speakers as well as a dialogue between students, community members, and panelists about how to improve relations between these interdependent communities.

This is a forum on U.S.-Islamic World Relations hosted by Americans for Informed Democracy at Goshen College as part of national series.

Free and open to the public. Free pizza, refreshments provided.

Panel of speakers includes: Omar Haydar, Former Director of the Chicago Council of American-Islamic Relations; Zaineb Istrabadi, Associate Director of the Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies program at Indiana University; David Cortright, Kroc Institute Fellow and Ghandi Peace Award Recipient; Mabel Brunks, Christian Peacemaker Teams member, Iraq Unit, recently returned

Students and community members will come together to hear brief presentations by panelists, then engage in dialogue about how to stem growing mutual hatred in America and the Muslim world. Hope Not Hate is in its second year as a bi-partisan effort to promote dialogue and understanding in the aftermath of September 11.
