Rhoda Janzen, Assistant Professor of English at Hope College, will give a public reading from her often-published poetry before working with Ann Hostetler's Introduction to Creative Writing class. Janzen, a graduate of Fresno Pacific University, began teaching at Hope College in 2000 after having gotten her MFA at the University of Florida and her Ph.D. at UCLA (2002). In addition to receiving awards for her teaching and her poetry, Janzen has also served as the University of California's poet laureate in 1994 and 1997. Most recently, she has been a guest on the PBS television series Closer To Truth (2001).
