Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center
Everybody Needs a Rock
Though we might not realize it, we all use rocks every day! During our
time at Merry Lea's Glacial Retreat Center we will explore why there are
so many rocks (and sand and gravel) in northern Indiana, use models to
find out how they got here, and discover some ways people use them.
We'll also walk to an old gravel pit to explore what kinds of rocks are
there and learn about them using a number of senses. We will even
look for our own special rocks to take home. This program is open to
anyone ages 5 years old and up; children must be accompanied by an
adult. Cost is $5 per adult and $3.50 per child. Registration is required
by Monday, April 1st. Visit our website to register.
