Fall Mainstage: The Saint Plays by Erik Ehn, directed by Michelle Milne
This fall we are excited to present a collection of Erik Ehns "Saint Plays" as our fall mainstage production. This work has been carefully selected in part to respond to the loss of friend and theatre student, Deanne Binde.
Ehn has been writing a series of short plays over the past several years that are inspired by various Catholic saints. These plays are poetic, political, and set in a variety of eras and places. They concern themselves with unanswerable questions about death and suffering, as they also look to the beauty of the connections between our individual stories and the Universal Story.
As I corresponded with Ehn about Deanne this summer, he was inspired to write a short play particularly for her and the saint for her birthday, Saint Rose of Viterbo. This is a great honor, and that play will be included as a key element to the production.
Tickets are $5 for students and seniors, $8 general. Stop by the Welcome Center or call 574.535.7566.
