President Obama Inauguration Watch
"I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States ... so help me God" With those 39 words, Barack Obama will be sworn in as our 44th president on January 20 at noon on the west front of the U.S. Capitol. If you can't be there in person, watch it live on a big screen at GC. The President Obama Inauguration Watch will begin at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20 in the Umble Center. Besides viewing the swearing-in ceremony, Obama's inaugural address and related activities, you'll have the chance to share your perspective and hear reflections from GC students and professors. This event is sponsored by the Black Student Union, the Communication, Bible, Religion & Philosophy, History, and Peace, Justice & Conflict Studies departments, the Multicultural Affairs Office and the Public Relations Office. Doors open at 11 a.m. Please join us!
