Emily Swora Sr Theater Recital

The Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice has been written and rewritten in poetic, musical, and dramatic form over the centuries. Eurydice dies on her own wedding day. Orpheus, a famous musician, journeys to Hades to win her back through his powerful music. This night of scenes combines, compares, and contrasts four different playwrights' versions of the epic story of loss. This amalgamation uses text by Mary Zimmerman, Sarah Ruhl, Jean Anouilh, and Tennessee Williams and an ensemble of seven actors.
