Resistance: Taking a stand against war, 1960s to today

40 years ago, GC students were living in the context of the Vietnam War and the military draft. A number of students were leaders in resisting the draft and challenging the Mennonite church to embrace draft resistance as a faithful response to the call of Jesus, and now some of those students are gathering again.

PAX Club invites you to join us for a day of reflection on the theme of Resistance. We will hear stories and reflections from draft resisters who were student leaders in the late 1960s and helped shift how Mennonites think about peacemaking. We will also dialogue about what a faithful peace witness looks like today through breakout sessions on themes of: tax resistance, counter-recruitment, and engaging the military.

Lunch will be provided by AVI Fresh.

***All are welcome - but please RSVP by Tuesday, Nov.10th to Sylva Keenan (sylvark@goshen.edu) so we have numbers for lunch.
