- About the Goshen College Drum Core -

Did we spell "drum corps" incorrectly? Hardly! According to the American Heritage Dictionary, a "corps" is "a separate branch or department...having a specialized function." We are the Goshen College Drum Core: the "basic" or "most important part," the *essence* of the rhythmic pulse of Goshen College. Founded by Zebulon Holsopple and Meryl Roth, GCDC largely consists of non-music majors who, since its birth last year, has greatly promoted the exposure of percussion music on Goshen College's campus. GCDC is primarily run by students and is advised by Sonny Carreqo, the director of Goshen College's big band, Lavender Jazz. Anyone who is interested in playing a fun variety of instruments (including trash cans and dinner plates) for audience-enrapturing musical pieces is strongly encouraged to join GCDC!
