Sauder Concert Hall

Jazz Band Concert with GC's Lavender Jazz

"Everybody Wants You."

Directed by Sonny Carreqo

Last November 6, Lavender Jazz, brought its' musical flight of fancy ever closer to terra firma. New vistas rolled out, the landscape came into view, the topography grew dense, and the sounds of a thousand rhythms made it official: "It's A Jungle Out There!"

Lav Jazz emerged from the jungle to find that "Everybody Wants You."

LJ's Spring concert will feature a little of what a bride wears on her wedding day: something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.

Something Old: The concert will open with the GC Alumni Jazz. This marks the first time a GC alumni jazz band will perform in Sauder Hall.

Something New: For the first time a Lavender Jazz concert, vocalists will be featured. Current students Adam Roth, Adrienne Nesbitt, with Fallon Will on piano, and alumnus/community member, Randall Jacobs, will each sing a number with LJ.

Something Borrowed: The five Seniors in Lavender Jazz, Danny King, Jaron Kennell, Jason Schmucker, Daron Showalter and Steve Schrock, have each selected a number they wish to perform in their final home concert. They have each borrowed a tune from an earlier concert from their four year career.

Something Blue: Where does Jazz come from? The Blues, of course.

Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and students K-12. GC students free with valid ID.
