Welcome: Shirley Showalter, president of Goshen College

Music: Voices 'n Harmony Gospel Choir, Patrice Penny-Henderson, directing. The choir includes GC students, faculty, staff and community members.

Speaker: Rev. Gilbert C. Washington is pastor of St. Paul Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and Chaplain at Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center, both located in South Bend, Indiana. His church participates in the Goshen College-sponsored Partners for Learning program.

Rev. Washington received his BA from Indiana University and his MDiv from Vanderbilt Divinity School in Nashville, Tennesee. He has taught at Central Baptist Theological Seminary and Bethel College.

Awards he has received include: The Service Award, presented by the Learning Center of South Bend; Martin Luther King Jr. Service Award presented by Saint Joseph's Medical Center and the Religious Man of the Year Award given by the South Bend YMCA.

The event is sponsored by Goshen College in collaboration with Goshen Ministerial Association, Goshen Chamber of Commerce and Goshen Health System.
