PJCS March Forum - Rabbi Lynn Gottlieb

"Jewish Stories of Faith and Hope from Biblical Times Until the Present"

Rabbi Lynn Gottleib of Congregation Nahalat Shalom, Albuquerque, NM and one of the first 10 women to be ordained in Judaism, will present "Jewish Stories of Faith and Hope from Biblical Times Until the Present." One of the leaders of Jewish feminism, Gottleib will offer a dramatic reading of stories from Jewish tradition and Scriptures, including the stories of Sarah, Abraham and Hagar; a Mother Chant with the women of Genesis and Exodus; Lilith; and Asnat Barzani, an 18th century Kurdish woman rabbi.

Gottleib is co-founder of the Arab-Jewish Dialogue of New Mexico and author of the book,"She who dwells within." She received a Human Rights award from the city of Albuquerque and the Albuquerque chapter of the United Nationsl Organization for her reconciliation work between Jews and Palestinians.

The event is free and open to the public.
