Convocation: Witness for Peace in Nicaragua
Based in Managua, Nicaragua, Witness for Peace has maintained a permanent presence in this Central American country since 1983. Over the years, WFP has examined and challenged unjust U.S. policies and corporate practices that hurt the poor majority in Nicaragua.
Some of the issues our work in Nicaragua addresses are:
Labor abuses in foreign owned factories,
International debt,
Free Trade Agreements,
Effects of International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank policies,
Alternative development,
Environmental implications of globalization, and much more.
