Flute Festival 2005
Goshen College will host Flute Festival 2005 on May 20-21, 2005, featuring
GC flute instructor Rebecca Hovan and Music Center Educational Outreach
Coordinator Susan Ellman Graulty. Flute Festival 2005 is a day of learning for
all flutists ranging from the intermediate to the advanced flutist. There are
sessions for everyone. Placement levels are modeled after the requirements
for the ISSMA solo and ensemble contest; if you are able to play a Grade I solo
at the State level, then you should sign up for the Advanced track. The
Intermediate track will focus on basic techniques and breathing. Each track
will perform flute choir selections during an evening concert.
The schedule of events includes a variety of flute masterclasses, lectures, and demonstrations. There will also be exhibits with flute paraphernalia in the Music Center lobby. Registration is $35.00; overnight accommodations are available for an additional fee. The registration deadline is May 13, 2005.
For more information or to request a brochure, please contact Susan Ellman Graulty at (574) 535-7945.
