Afternoon Sabbatical - Larry Yoder

"Elkhart County's Prairies: Celebrating a Lasting Heritage"

Elkhart County's prairie heritage comes alive as Dr. Larry Yoder presents an illustrated lecture that traces the history of our local grasslands from the chilly mists of the retreating glacier to their becoming home for a rich diversity of plants, animals and native people. Close to extinction, after dramatically shaping human life-ways along the Elkhart River for untold centuries, prairies are being re-established on public and private lands in the county.

Presented by Larry Yoder, associate professor of biology and assistant to the executive director of the Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center.
