Theater Trip to Chicago - The Lion King

Disney's smash hit The Lion King makes its long-awaited Chicago debut in 2003 at the Cadillac Palace Theater.

"The Lion King has been delighting audiences on Broadway and across the world," says producer Thomas Schumacher. "We are thrilled to launch a new production in this great theatre town."

Now in its fifth sold out year in New York at the New Amsterdam Theatre, The Lion King is the winner of six Tony Awards including Best Musical, eight Drama Desk Awards, the New York Drama Critics Award for Best Musical, and a Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album.

Director Julie Taymor became the first woman in Broadway history to win the Tony Award for Best Director of a Musical.
