Pat Mora, "Crossing Borders: Journeys in Spirit"

Pat Mora's presentation is free and open to the public.

Author and literacy advocate Pat Mora has been called "one of the most significant Chicana poets of our time" (The New Mexican). Her poems are "proudly bilingual, an eloquent answer to purists who refuse to see language as something that lives and changes." (The New York Times Book Review)

Among Mora's recent poetry collections are My Own True Name: New and Selected Poems for Young Adults and Aunt Carmen's Book of Practical SaintsHer children's books include The Desert is My Mother/El Desierto es Mi Madre; A Birthday Basket for Tía; and Delicious Hulabaloo/Pachanga Deliciosa.
