"Seeing Local Culture"

Like Thoreau who said, "I have traveled far in Concord," our own Dr. Ervin Beck has for many years appreciated and studied local culture. Through an illustrated lecture, Professor Beck will share old and new interests that he hopes to pursue after retiring in July: log houses, barns, Joe Wright's musical instruments, historical markers, paintings on glass and other folk arts, including some local items from the exhibit, "Friendship Quilts and Family Records."
