"Nuclear Abolition in 1986--and Now" --guest author Jonathan Schell

The U.S. and Soviet Union came very close to abolishing all nuclear weapons in 1986. How did it happen? Why did they fail? Why is this encounter key to current nuclear disarmament efforts today?
The history senior seminar class invites others to join this special class session with Jonathan Schell, author of The Seventh Decade: The New Shape of Nuclear Danger. Copies of the book will be for sale after the lecture, and Schell will be available to sign copies.
