Fall Theater Auditions

ACTORS: Please bring 6-8 lines of any poem, of any style. The only requirement is that you LIKE your poem. You should also ideally have your poem memorized and be prepared to work with it in different ways. If you are unable to memorize the poem, be highly familiar with it and again, be ready to work with it in a variety of ways (also: you should bring it printed on a piece of paper - not in a book that can be awkward to hold while you do other things).

In addition, bring your schedule for the semester, paper, and a pen/pencil. Dress ready to move (no high heels, skirts, etc) and be prepared to have fun!

DESIGNERS (set, costume, lighting, props, sound): You just need to bring your schedule for the semester, a pen/pencil and a willingness to jump in, try new things, and have fun! For planning purposes, it would be helpful for me to know ahead of time if you are interested in designing. Just send me a quick note about your interest and the night you plan to attend auditions at michellejm@goshen.edu. However, if you don't get an email to me, don't be shy about just showing up on one of the audition nights.

NOTE TO ALL: You can "audition" in either or both of the above categories. As this will be ensemble-driven, I am hoping that some of you will be able to contribute in multiple areas.

STAGE MANAGER: I am also seeking a stage manager that is specifically interested in working with an ensemble. This will require the same skills as stage managing for any production (organization, attention to detail, etc), but will also require flexibility, interest in the process, keen observation skills, and the ability to "go with the flow." Interest and a collaborative attitude are more important than experience, so if you have never stage managed before, don't be shy! Please contact me ASAP if you are interested.

I'm very excited about the possibilities for this production, and look forward to seeing you all at auditions!
