David Kendall and Dave Nofsinger | Art Gallery Exhibit
Dave Nofsinger ('90) is an assistant professor in Western Michigan University's Department of Theatre. Nofsinger's teaching specialties are in the areas of scenic design, drafting, rendering, properties and scenic painting. A portion of his artist statement reads: "Scenery design is a blend of the objectives for sculpture, painting, drawing, drafting, performance and literature. I strive to design interesting, balanced and appropriately focused artwork that will be used by a production team to tell a story." The artwork in this exhibit is from Nofsinger's personal collection of "working documents". They represent his process in designing scenery, and serve as one example of an approach.
The work of Kendall and Nofsinger will be on display in the Hershberger Art Gallery (located inside the Goshen College Music Center) from January 19 until March 15. The opening reception and artist talk with be on Sunday, January 26, beginning at 2:00 p.m..
The Hershberger Art Gallery is open weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and weekends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.. The Gallery is closed on academic holidays.
