You're invited to hear Dr. Lauren Wenger in a talk entitled, "Shaken not stirred: Mechanochemical exploration of the p- block", as the use of ball milling, a solid-state mechanochemical method, is explored as a synthetic technique to prepare novel organometallic complexes of p-block metals. Unique reactivity is discussed, including comparisons of solid-state synthesis to traditional synthesis using solvent.
