Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center - Rieth Village Site
Merry Lea Sustainable Farm Pasture Walk
Join us as Merry Lea hosts Lagrange Soil and Water Conservation
Districts' monthly "pasture walk" program, an informal gathering
exploring the animal agricultural systems of Merry Lea Sustainable Farm.
Come hear about our livestock breeds, fencing, foraging system, and
other management practices used on our farm. The Pasture Walk runs
from 1-3 pm.
Those interested may come at 11:00 am for a tour of Rieth Village,
highlighting the green building practices used in the buildings and site.
The project was awarded the platinum LEED certification from the U.S.
Green Building Council in 2007, the first building project in Indian to
achieve this rating. Bring a brown bag lunch to eat from 12-1 pm.
No registration is required for this program. Please carpool when
possible to help with parking space. This program occurs at Reith
Village (4415 W 200 S, Albion, IN 46701).
