Science 106 and remote
Wind Energy Technology and Career Paths, Andrew Glick - Science Speakers

Andrew
Glick, M.S., is a mechanical engineer doing
failure and
structural analysis for Vestas--the world's largest
manufacturer of wind turbines--at their U.S.
headquarters in
Portland, Oregon. He's done design work on wind and
water
turbines for different companies. He researched
airflow/cooling around solar arrays for his Master's
thesis
(Portland State University).
If you've ever taken a warm shower at the RFC, you've benefitted from Andrew's excitement about renewable energy! As a student at GC, he was part of the team that initiated, designed and installed the SunShower array (goshen.edu/sunshower) which is still heating water for the Recreation-Fitness Center with solar energy.
This lecture is free and open to the public. Masks required.
