Merrill Krabill had been on the faculty at Goshen College since 2001. In addition to the importance of educating the next generation of students, the opportunity to see young artists engage the world of visual expression with fresh eyes opened new possibilities for him personally as well.

The initial thoughts shaping him as an artist came from Goshen College professor Marvin Bartel. Along with the introduction to the world of ceramics Bartel’s strong promotion of creativity and creative thinking was a foundation for everything that came later.

Entitled, TRANSITIONS, Merrill's retirement exhibit will be on display in the Hershberger Art Gallery until Sunday, November 10, 2024. A reception and Artist Talk will be held during Homecoming Weekend, October 5, beginning at 5:30 p.m., with the Artist Talk at 6:15 p.m..
