Senior Exhibit II Opening Reception
Saige Lind is a graphic design major with minors in art and music from Seattle, Washington. When not creating things, she enjoys reading, biking, hiking and going on walks with her corgi. Saige’s senior exhibition is inspired by the textures and minute details that she observes in nature. It will combine her interests in pattern design and pottery together in a series of thrown ceramic vessels stamped with original patterns, and may feature handwoven tapestries.
Anna Kauffman’s show will include drawings of famous art works that she has reimagined in a modern fashion. Clothes, jewelry, and other accessories are one way I have created a modern look. The art scene has historically been dominated by white men, so in this show I am highlighting women, people of color, and people generally not chosen to be celebrated through art. Anna is a senior majoring in studio art. She specializes in charcoal drawings, but also enjoys ceramics, watercolor and acrylic painting.
Annika Fisher is a sociology and art major from Staunton, Virginia. She is fascinated by the way humans interact with and design the built environment, and she built a tiny house on wheels with her dad during her college summers. After graduation, she is interested in pursuing urban planning. Annika’s work will include drawings that showcase small aspects of people’s lived experience in graphite, watercolor and ink. She focuses on humans’ presence without humans, present.
