The exhibit presents a wide range of domestic folk arts gathered from Old Order Amish communities primarily in Elkhart and LaGrange counties in north central Indiana. Included are quilts, comforters, clothing, dolls, rugs, pincushions, sewing caddies, and more. The exhibit also includes several rare pieces of paint-decorated furniture - chest of drawers, blanket chest, one-drawer stand - dating from as early as 1871. These objects come from a recent gift to Goshen College, by generous donors, of material collected, beginning in 1977, by David Pottinger, formerly of Honeyville,Indiana, now of Goshen.

Other Amish collections from Pottinger are held by the Museum of American Folk Art, Indiana State Museum, Illinois State Museum and Fort Wayne Museum of Art. Curated by John Mishler, David Pottinger and Faye Peterson.
